This led to like two or so guys in the modding community to look into how the stages work in relation to the engine itself, right down to fetching the arcade version of vanilla SFIV (illegally of course) in order to find small leftovers that would help clue in on it. A few people - myself included - wanted to recreate SFxT's training stage before backporting from SFxT was made a thing, and while we had the textures (shoutouts to dantarion btw), we were unable to get rid of the ambient depth fog's color. The only ones to exist were very few and relied on so many tricks that it just wasn't worth it until about over a year or so ago.įor a while, most custom stages were either vertex edits of the training stage or reskins of it, and edits of already existing ones.
